Joel Pritchard

Joel McFee Pritchard ( born May 5, 1925 in Seattle, Washington; † October 9, 1997 in Olympia, Washington ) was an American politician ( Republican).

Pritchard went to public school. From 1944 to 1946 he served in the United States Army with the rank of Sergeant. After leaving active duty he attended in 1946 and 1947, the Marietta College. Later he worked for the Griffin Envelope Co., a Seattle-based company, which he was president from 1948 to 1971.

Pritchard's political career began in the House of Representatives Washington, which he was a member from 1953 to 1966. From 1966 to 1970 he was a member of the Senate of Washington. In addition, he was a delegate to the 1956 Republican National Convention in San Francisco and was elected to the 93rd Congress. There, he represented in the U.S. House of Representatives his home state of 3 January 1973 to 3 January 1985.
