Johan Bontekoe

Johan Klaas Bontekoe ( born July 1, 1944 in Assen, † March 25, 2006 in Amsterdam) was a Dutch swimmer.

He was at the European Championships in 1962 in Leipzig in 4:25,6 min European champion in the 400 m freestyle and was the first Dutch European champions since 1938. At the Olympic Games in Tokyo in 1964, he competed in three disciplines, but each different from the flow. Overall Bontekoe won 14 Dutch Championships and set 28 national records. After his career, he worked for the Dutch Swimming Federation in different functions.
