Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles

The Johnnie Walker Championship at Gleneagles was a European Tour golf tournament which was played until 2013 in Scotland, the Gleneagles Hotel. The tournament was founded in 1999 as the Scottish PGA Championship and has since changed hands several times, despite the same sponsor 's name, as Diageo tried to advertise various brands. The competition was last contested on the PGA Centenary Course, as Monarch 's Course was formerly known, and the 2014 serves as the venue for the Ryder Cup.

Apart from the The Open Championship, which takes place most years in Scotland due to a rotation system, the Johnnie Walker Championship belonged to one of three tournaments on the European Tour that was played in the " Home of Golf", in addition to the Scottish Open and the Dunhill links Championship.

The event should not be confused with the Johnnie Walker Classic, which is played as a long -established golf tournament in the Asia- Pacific region and is supported by the European Tour, PGA Tour of Australasia and Asian Tour.
