Jon Lilygreen

Jon Lilygreen (born 4 August 1987) is a Welsh singer and guitarist. Together with the band The Islanders represented Cyprus he the Euro Vision Song Contest 2010 in Oslo.

Biography

Jon Lilygreen comes from Bettws, in the port city of Newport, where he still lives and graduated at the local Coleg Gwent in the fields of voice, guitar and composition. During his training he wrote his own songs, which were posted on the school's Coleg Gwent Green Album 2009. Then Lilygreen made ​​numerous appearances in his hometown, including organized by the Riverfront Theatre Summer Sessions ( 2009). He is the independent label Long Life Records. Early February 2010, won Lilygreen with the band The Islanders Cypriot finals for the Euro Vision Song Contest in Oslo. Your title Life Looks Better in the Spring was texted by the Cypriots and Melis Konstantinou Naso Lambrianides and composed. It is a guitar ballad using a gospel choir. The group was in early 2009 specifically for inclusion in the Welsh Music Studio Gold Disc Productions in Treorchy, Rhondda, compiled by the Scottish drummer John Gregory and his wife, the Norwegian pianist Sylvia beach. Lambrianides had noticed the studio of the two on the internet. The song was rearranged with another of Lambrianides and Konstantinou and provided with harmonies and string instruments. Besides Lilygreen, who had played in an orchestra, together with beach guitar, Gregory and beach, the band consists of English singer Katherine Squire, the Welsh singer Sean Watts and the Greek Cypriot guitarists Charalambos Kallona.

When the band members learned that the composer had submitted the two songs for the Cypriot ESC decider and this had reached the final, Lilygreen and The Islanders traveled to Cyprus and rehearsed for a week. Due to better chance of winning, they presented only one song, Life Looks Better in the Spring, and won to her own surprise the competition against nine competitors.

After the victory, the band toured the UK and Europe and returned for the final preparations for the Euro Vision Song Contest to Cyprus. Lilygreen and The Islanders represented the Mediterranean country at the 55th Euro Vision Song Contest on May 27, 2010 in Oslo in the second semi-final and two days later reached the finals taking place. There, the formation took a 21th Place. The points came from:
