Júlia Sebestyén

Julia Sebestyen [ ju ː liɒ ʃɛbɛʃce ː n] (born 14 May 1981 in Miskolc ) is a Hungarian former figure skater and the first European champion in the women for Hungary.

She started at age 4 with figure skating. Up to the age of 13 she was training on the outdoor rink Tiszaújváros. It started during their entire career for the Tiszaújvárosi SC. Their coach was last Gurgen Vardanjan. In 2004, Sebestyen surprisingly won the European title in the women and thus the first for Hungary. Hungary had indeed been two world champions (Lily Kronberger and Opika of Méray Horváth ), but in their time there were no women's competition at the European Championships. After her European title followed by a period with weaker results. However, in November 2006 she won the Grand Prix competition in Nanjing, China.
