Kadłub, Opole Voivodeship

Kadlúb ( German: Kadlub ) is a town in Poland in the community Strzelce ( United Strehlitz ). It belongs to the powiat Strzelecki in Upper Silesia in the Opole Voivodeship.

Geographical Location

Kadlúb located 12 kilometers north of the seat of the municipality and the county town of Strzelce and 25 kilometers east of the voivodship Opole.

History

The town was first mentioned in 1429. 1777 when the place in the possession of the Count von Strachwitz.

In the plebiscite in Upper Silesia on March 20, 1921 273 voters voted to remain in Germany and 330 for Poland. Kadlub remained with the German Reich. 1933 lived 1003 inhabitants in the town. On 3 July 1936, the town was renamed in Star home. In 1939 the place 1088 inhabitants. By 1945, the place was in the district of Great Strehlitz.

In 1945 the previously German place under Polish administration and renamed Kadlúb and joined the Silesian Voivodeship. In 1950, the city came to Opole Voivodeship. In 1999 the place to re-founded powiat Strzelecki.
