Kaija Udras

Kaija Vahtra ( born December 4, 1986 in Võru, then Estonian Soviet Socialist Republic, Soviet Union; native Kaija Udras ) is an Estonian cross-country skier.

Sporting career

Vahtra was first used in 2005 in the Cross Country World Cup. In Otepaeae they occupied 10-kilometer classic 45th and thus last place. Also at the Junior World Championships in 2005 in Rovaniemi she was able to record any significant success. Her best was the 33rd place in the sprint competition. In the season 2006/ 07 Vahtra started mainly in the Scandinavian Cup. In domestic Jõulumäe she succeeded classic push forward for the first time about 5 km below the top 30 athletes with 24th place. At the end of the season they started in Pragelato at the Winter Universiade, where she finished in 36th place about 5 km freestyle. In the following season they reached again in Jõulumäe 13th place 10-kilometer classic her best result of the season in the Scandinavian Cup. In her third appearance in the World Cup 10-kilometer classic in Otepaeae they improved the results of the last years and was ranked 39 out of 57 starters. At FIS race in Albu It reached number three on 4.5 km classic behind Manuela Henkel their first podium finish in an international race. In the U23 World Championships, she finished in 34th place in the sprint, 36th 10-kilometer classic and the 42 space over 15 km Freestyle ( mass start ). In the summer of 2008, she won the well-staffed rollerski competition in Otepaeae the victory of Justyna Kowalczyk tenth place in the sprint. When FIS races in Muonio, considered to be positioning for the upcoming World Cup season, she won the sprint course 10, after which she was nominated for the World Cup opener in Kuusamo. In the team sprint, she took along with Triin Ojaste the 14th Place. Despite pregnancy Vahtra participated in Oslo at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2011. Where they are 65 in the qualification of the sprint competition but clearly missed the finals.

After the birth of her son in the summer of 2011 Vahtra is in the 2011/12 season deny no competitions.

Private life

In spring 2011, she married the Estonian cross-country skier EERI Vahtra. 2011 was their son Eerik to the world.
