Kaleste is a village (Estonian küla ) in the rural community Kõrgessaare ( Kõrgessaare vald ). It is the second largest Estonian island of Hiiumaa ( German Dagö ).

Description

Kaleste has five inhabitants ( 31 December 2011).

The place is located in the southwest of the peninsula Kõpu ( Kõpu pool saar ) in a world characterized by woods and dunes. The highest dune is 44.7 m high. South of the town the Baltic Sea Bay extends from Kalaste ( Kalaste Laht ).

The area around Kaleste is popular with hikers and camping enthusiasts.
