Kamil Piroš

Kamil Piroš ( born November 20, 1978 in Most, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech ice hockey player who until November 2012 played in the Kontinental Hockey League for Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg on the position of the center.

Career

Kamil Piroš began his career in the youth department of the HC SK Banik Most, the resident in his hometown of second division. From the season 1993/94 played the center in each of the highest Czech Youth and Junior League for the HC Chemopetrol Litvinov, for the first team, he was active from 1996 to 2001 in the Extraliga. For the season 2001 /02 changed Piroš, who had been selected at the NHL Entry Draft in 1997 by the Buffalo Sabres, to North America. As the Sabres had already lost the rights to him again, the links Sagittarius the Atlanta Thrashers joined. However, the Czech denied in the following three seasons, only 25 games in the NHL and spent the most time in the farm team of the Thrashers, the Chicago Wolves in the AHL. There he succeeded in 2002 - together with his current Cologne teammate Bryan Adams - have so far only title when he defeated the Wolves, the Bridgeport Sound Tigers in the final of the Calder Cup ( Champion Cup AHL ) 4-1.

Even after joining the Florida Panthers during the 2003/ 04 season Piroš could not prevail in the NHL and, therefore, in 2004 moved to the Russian Super League, where he was one season for Moskovskaya Oblast Chimik and Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk on the ice. During the season 2006 /07 he was active for the EV train in the Swiss National League A. In the summer of 2007 Piroš signed a two -year contract with the Cologne Sharks of the DEL. In January 2009 he received due to financial problems of the sharks the release and moved to HV 71 Jönköping Sweden. In June 2009 he was engaged by the Ässät Pori. After 22 games for the Ässät in the SM- liiga Piroš changed in November 2009, back in the Elitserien for Timrå IK. For the 2010/11 season he returned to HV 71 Jönköping.

From the summer of 2012 played Piroš in the Kontinental Hockey League for Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg, before he was released in November of the same year of his contract.
