Kerstin Preßler

Kerstin Pressler ( born February 2, 1962 in Augsburg) is a former German long-distance runner.

In 1986, she won her first of four national championship titles in the 10,000 -meter run ( followed by others in 1987, 1988 and 1990), won the Darmstadt city run and was German champion in road race over a distance of 25 kilometers. The following year, she won the 25 kilometers from Berlin, where she became second in the previous two years. At the World Athletics Championships 1987, she was tenth in the 10,000 meters in the West German record time of 31:56,80 min. Shortly thereafter, she won the Berlin Marathon with the course record of 2:31:22 h, and in the spring of the following year she became the second of the Hamburg Marathon German Vice Champion in 2:30:37 h

In a marathon, the 1988 Olympics she came as the best West German runner on the 21th Place. In the New York City Marathon the same year she was fifth.

In 1989, she became German Vice Champion in cross country and over 10,000 meters and finished third in the Berlin marathon. In 1990 she won the Houston Marathon and the Frankfurt Marathon, also it was German champion in road race over 15 kilometers, second in the Pittsburgh Marathon. In 1991 she won the Paderborn Easter Run on the 10-kilometer route. In 1992, she posed as a third party of the Los Angeles Marathon with 2:29:40 h their personal record and won her third national title in the road race ( again about 15 km ). In the 1992 Olympics she failed in the 10,000 meters in the flow. At the conclusion of their performance sporting career, she was tenth at the New York City Marathon this fall.

The 1.60 m wide and 50 -kg athlete competed for the Neukölln sports fans, the LAC Hallensee and the OSC Berlin. In 2002 she became European champion over 10,000 meters and seniors took the crew of the OSC Berlin the national title in the marathon.
