Kim Yi-yong

Kim Yi -yong ( born September 20, 1973 in the province of Gangwon -do) is a South Korean marathoner.

In 1994 he was eighth in the Dong -A Marathon, 1995 seventh. In 1996 he qualified in to the same race in fifth for the Olympic Games in Atlanta, where he was twelfth.

In 1997 a seventh place at the Dong -A Marathon a second at Chuncheon Marathon. In 1998, he won the Dong -A Marathon, he was with his personal best of 2:07:49 h fourth in the Rotterdam Marathon in 1999 and 2000, he was ninth at the Chicago Marathon.

The following year, he qualified in sixth place at the Dong -A Marathon (now Seoul International Marathon ) for the IAAF 2001 World Championships in Edmonton, where he arrived on the 54th. He was eighth in the JoongAng Seoul Marathon 2002.

At the 2003 World Championships in Paris / Saint- Denis he did not reach the target. After he became the JoongAng Seoul Marathon fifth and sixth in 2004 in 2003, he won in 2005 at the Jeonju - Gunsan Marathon, but had again at the World Championships in Helsinki to give up. In 2006 he finished fifth at the Tokyo International Women's Marathon, defended his title in Jeonju and won at the National Games.

In 2008 he was nominated for a seventh place at the Seoul International Marathon for the Olympic Games in Beijing, where he broke in on rank 50. In 2010 he came to 15th place at the Daegu Marathon.
