Kingsford Dibela
Sir Kingsford Dibela, GCMG ( born March 16, 1932 in Wedau, Milne Bay Province, Papua New Guinea, † 22 March 2002 in Port Moresby ) was a politician of New Guinea papua.
Biography
After school he took himself already in 1949 to work as a primary school teacher, which he held until his election as President of the Municipal Board ( Local Government Council) of Weraura in 1963.
After the sovereignty of Papua New Guinea on 16 September 1975 he was elected a member of the meeting house ( House of Assembly ) and was from 1977 to 1980 Speaker of Parliament ( Speaker of Parliament ).
On March 1, he was appointed as successor to Sir gates Lokoloko governor-general and held this office until February 27, 1990. 1983 he was appointed by Queen Elizabeth II to Knight Grand Cross of the Order of St Michael and St George.
