Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province

Kohgiluyeh and Boyer Ahmad (Persian کهگیلویه و بویراحمد ) is one of the 31 provinces in Iran. Capital is Yasudsch.

In the province of 634 299 people ( 2006 census ). The area of ​​the province covers 15,504 square kilometers. The population density is 41 inhabitants per square kilometer.

Geography

The province is located in the southwestern part of the country. It is very mountainous and has a share in the Zagros Mountains. The highest elevation is 4,409 meters with Dena.

History

Until June 23, 1963 was a part of this province of Fars and the other part to Khuzestan.
