History
Kohren- Sahlis was first mentioned in 974.
National Socialism
In Kohren- Salis was from 1 November 1942 to 14 April 1945, the children's home " sunny meadow ", which was operated by the SS Lebensborn organization. Here ( German soldiers Norwegian mothers than fathers ) were mainly from Norway native children housed before they are passed on to system -abiding families for adoption.

Kohren- Sahlis is located in a traditional Lutheran territory. Through the territory of the city Kohren- Sahlis State Road 51 Borna Penig runs. The Leipzig -Altenburg Airport is ten kilometers away.
Kohren- Sahlis is in the territory of the regional public transport network. The nearest railway station is on the railway line Frohnburg Leipzig- Borna Geithain, about eight kilometers northwest of Kohren- Sahlis. The train station Frohnburg and to Altenburg and Geithain buses operate out of Thüsac of Kohren- Sahlis.
Until 1967 there was a railway line Frohnburg - Kohren- Sahlis. The station building Kohren- Sahlis is still clearly visible, runs along the embankment today, however, a cycle path.
