Košice (Kutná Hora District)

Košice ( German Koschitz ) is a municipality with 54 inhabitants ( 2006) in the Czech Republic. Lies 14 kilometers southwest of the town of Kutna Hora and belongs to Okres Kutná Hora. The Katasterfläsche is 209 ha

Geography

The village is located 420 m above sea level on the left side of the valley of the creek Košice. By leading the Košice State Road 337 between Malešov and Uhlířské Janovice. South of the town lies the pond Podskalák.

Neighboring towns are Rozkoš and Vidice in the north, Roztěž in the northeast, Albrechtice and Polánka in the east, and Chlístovice Bedřichov the southeast, Nepoměřice in the south, Samek in the southwest, Onomyšl in the west and Miletín in the northwest.

History

The first written mention of belonging to the reign Malešov village was named in 1310 as Bořita z Kosić in connection with the foundation of the church of St. James in Kutna Hora. Since 1350, the existent of the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin Mary is provable, which was the parish church in 1362.
