History

The Krasnoyarsk Railway first arose in 1936, when distance parts of the former middle -Siberian ( 1897-1902 ), Siberian ( 1902-1912 ) and Tomsk Railway (from 1912 ) and the 1911 founded, originally private Atschinsk - Minusinsk railway, after various reorganizations ultimately 1934 had risen in the East-Siberian railway, were spun again. In 1961 the Krasnoyarsk railway was again connected to the East Siberian Railway before it in its present form became independent in 1979.

Electrification began at the Krasnoyarsk Railway in 1959 with the commissioning of a 275 km long section of the Trans-Siberian Railway to Krasnoyarsk with 25 kV 50 Hz AC. Already in the following year she was completed for the entire Trans-Siberian section of the Krasnoyarsk railway. It was the first long, electrified with alternating current line in the Soviet Union; Therefore, here, among other things imported from France locomotives of the series Ф (F) were tested. The Südsibirische Railway Novokuznetsk - Abakan - Taischet was built electrified from the outset in the 1960s.

The plans include the construction of a 460 km long railway line from Kuragino in the capital of the hitherto iron webless Republic of Tuva Kyzyl. The aborted in the 1970s, continued construction of the route Reschoty - Karabula is resumed and the distance by 50 km to Jarki, west of Boguchany located on the Angara, be extended.
