Kyle Palmieri

Kyle Palmieri ( born February 1, 1991, Smithtown, New York ) is an American professional ice hockey player who is since 2010 at the Anaheim Ducks of the National Hockey League under contract and in parallel in the first half of the 2012/13 season for their farm team Norfolk Admirals played in the American Hockey League. After completion of the lockout, he was a regular player for the Ducks.

Career

Kyle Palmieri began his career as a hockey player in the U.S. National Team Development Program, for which he was active from 2007 to 2009 in the Junior League North American Hockey League. He was then selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 2009 in the first round than a total of 26 players from the Anaheim Ducks. Then the winger visited a year, the University of Notre Dame, for their hockey team he played in parallel in the National Collegiate Athletic Association.

In the season 2010/11 the Americans came to his debut in the National Hockey League for the Anaheim Ducks, where he scored one goal in eleven games. The majority of the playing time he spent at Anaheim's farm team, however, Syracuse Crunch in the American Hockey League, for whom he in 62 games 51 points scorer, with 29 goals scored. Because of his achievements, he was allowed to take part in the AHL All-Star Classic.

The following season, Palmieri was able to increase his points total in the AHL and reached 58 points scorer for Syracuse. In December 2011, he was promoted from the Ducks and collected in 18 games, interrupted by a temporary return to Syracuse Crunch, 7 points and had two "Multi- Point Games". Since Anaheim missed the playoffs, Palmieri was sent back to Syracuse, but the St. John's IceCaps subject in the first round in four games.

The first half of the season 2012/13 spent Palmieri at the Norfolk Admirals, the new farm team of the Anaheim Ducks. Internationally

For the U.S., Palmieri took at youth level at the U18 World Youth Championship 2008 and the U20 World Junior Championships in 2010 and 2011 in part. In the U18 World Cup in 2008 and the U20 World Cup in 2011 he won the bronze, at the 2010 U20 World Cup, even the gold medal with his team.

For the World Cup 2012 Palmieri was first nominated to the squad of U.S. seniors selection for the world championships. In the course of the competition he was in seven matches of the USA on the ice, scoring two goals and assists each. Finally, he was defeated by the team in the quarter-finals against Finland.
