Lars Larsson (athlete)

Lars Axel Larsson ( born June 17, 1911 in Lidingö, † January 29, 1993 ) was a Swedish athlete.

At the Olympic Games in Berlin in 1936 Larsson was in 9:16,6 minutes sixth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. He had seven seconds behind the third-placed Alfred Dompert. Two years later at the European Championships in Paris, he won in 9:16,2 minutes with three seconds ahead of Ludwig Kaindl.

From 1936 to 1940 he was the fifth consecutive Swedish champion in the steeplechase. He improved the Swedish record three times, most recently at 9:07,0 minutes. 1938 and 1940 he was second in the world each year leaderboard.

Lars Larsson was an active athlete 1.80 m tall and weighed 70 kg.
