List of settlements in Nauru

The Republic of Nauru originally comprised 169 villages; these were partially deserted, uninhabited or destroyed after 1900. With the increasing population growth, the individual villages merged to form a coherent settlement, which today is distributed around the entire coastline.

The place names are from the book Nauru - Results of the South Seas Expedition of Dr. Paul Hambruch, which spent on the island after 1900 several years. The names have been revised in accordance with the spelling reform of the Nauruan language of 1939.
