Lizanne Bussières

Lizanne Bussières ( born August 20, 1961 in Frelighsburg, Quebec ) is a former Canadian long- distance runner who specialized in the marathon.

In 1983, she came at the World Cross Country Championships in Gateshead on the 45th place and won the Montreal Marathon. The following year she was third at the Ottawa Marathon and fourth at the New York City Marathon.

In 1986, she was third in the Boston Marathon and fourth in the marathon of the Commonwealth Games in Edinburgh.

In 1988, she finished at the Cross Country World Cup in Auckland 26th position, finished fifth in Boston and ran a marathon on rank 26 of the Olympic Games in Seoul. In the Universiade 1989 in Duisburg, she won the bronze medal in the 10,000 m. In 1990, she was ninth, respectively over 3000 m and 10,000 m and second in the Los Angeles Marathon at the Commonwealth Games in Auckland.

In 1992 she qualified with a fifth place in Los Angeles for the marathon of the Olympic Games in Barcelona, ​​in which they did not reach the target.
