Luboš Bartoň

Luboš Bartoňs ( born April 7, 1980 in Ceska Lipa, Czechoslovakia) is a Czech professional basketball player. The Czech national team played after studying in the United States as a professional three years in Italy and then for seven years in Spain. With the Catalan clubs Barcelona ( ULEB Euro Cup 2009/ 10) and Badalona ( ULEB Cup in 2007 / 08, FIBA EuroCup 2005/ 06) he won once each the three main European club competitions. After 2013, played briefly in the German Basketball Bundesliga for the Phantoms Braunschweig, he returned to the 2013/14 season once again back for a short-term contract in the Spanish ACB League

Career

Bartoňs began his career with the youth team of the club from Decin, near his birthplace in the north of the Czech Republic. His professional debut was at the same club in the 1996/97 season and played there also the Championship 1997/98. Then he played from 1998 to 2002 basketball at Valparaiso University and moved to the 2002/03 season in Italy, after he signed a contract with Fortitudo Bologna. For the season 2003/ 04 he moved to Pallacanestro Virtus Roma and played there also the Championship 2004/05. From Italy, he moved on to Spain after he signed a contract with Joventut de Badalona. In 2008, he moved to FC Barcelona, where he played until 2010 before he signed with Baloncesto Fuenlabrada. By 2012, Barton played for Fuenlabrada, before he returned for a few weeks after the Catalonia and helped out again with Joventut Badalona. In the following season 2012/13 he joined only in December 2012, first in the Czech homeland the USK Prague under coach Ken Scalabroni to, but then switched in January 2013 finally to Germany and received a contract until the end of season when relegation-threatened first division New Yorker Phantoms Braunschweig that have been trained in the past by Scalabroni. After the successful relegation Barton played in the following season, first with his hometown club in Decin, before returning in 2013 for a short-term contract in the Spanish ACB League, where he was active for the club from Valencia.
