2009–10 Euroleague

The 2009/10 season was the 10th season of the ULEB Euro League. Qualifying began on 29 September 2009, and ended on 9 October, the season even started on 21 October 2009 and ended with the final on May 9, 2010 at the Palais Omnisports.

Mode

At the Euro League 24 teams participate. Of these 22 teams were qualified directly for the group stage. One of them is the winner of the Euro Cup the previous season 2008/ 09, the Lithuanian team BC Lietuvos Rytas. The remaining 21 places will be determined by so-called A and B licenses. A license is assigned to eight vergebenene certain clubs over several years and permissions for the Europa League, which apply to the 2011/2012 season. The 24 teams are divided into four groups of six teams, each team one home and away game contests against any other team. The second group phase was drawn on January 18, 2010 in Barcelona. The best two teams in the second group stage qualify for the knock-out system, which will be played in best- of-five - mode.
