Luca Cattaneo

Luca Cattaneo ( born July 24, 1972 in Breno ) is an Italian alpine skier. Career

Alpine Skiing

Cattaneo's first major event was the Junior World Championship in 1991 in Geilo. Here he finished fifth in the downhill and eleventh place in the Super-G. He also started in the slalom, a discipline in which he took part in the World Cup only in the context of combinations later, and was 24, his first World Cup points won the then 20 -year-old on 12 December 1992, rank 23 in the downhill on the Saslong in Val Gardena. In the next two years the Italians get multiple top rankings in the World Cup. On 10 January 1998 he was third in the Super G at the Planai in Schladming for the first time on the podium and on 12 December 1998, he reached second place in the downhill in Val d'Isere his best World Cup result.
