The Lugano train station is the only railway station in the Swiss city of Lugano. Despite the name, Lugano -Paradiso, this Railway station is located in the autonomous community Paradiso. History

The age of the railway began in Lugano in 1874, as the Ticino valley railways here had their starting point of the route to Chiasso. 1882 followed with the opening of the summit tunnel of the Gotthard and Ceneri the commissioning of the Gotthard Railway.
