History

There were differences in the community about the location of the station before construction begins: While Brunner villagers want the station to be on the lake in Mythenstein, demanded the Ingenbohl farmers to build on the present site. The station was opened as a through station, along with the track Immensee - Göschenen of the Gotthard Railway Company on June 1, 1882. The first station building corresponded to the standard building for intermediate stations of the Gotthard Railway, and was the chief architect of the Gotthard railway, Gustav Mossdorf (1831-1907), who held the construction management, designed .. This Riegelbau quickly proved too small, and it was between 1901 and 1903, a stately, three-story reception building created. Since 1908, when the Gotthard Railway was nationalized, the Swiss Federal Railways operate the station.

On 1 May 1903, the double-track route Immensee Fountain was opened. For the continuation of the double-track direction Erstfeld had between Flüelen and fountains new tunnel to be built. The second track between Sisikon and wells could be opened to traffic until August 2, 1948. On 1 May 1922, the line between Arth -Goldau and Erstfeld by SBB at 15 kV 16 2/3 Hz was electrified.

From May 8, 1915 to December 15, 1963 crossed the station square the Schwyz trams trams ( SSTB ), which connected the landing stage in well with the Schwyz Train.
