M55 highway (Russia)

The R258 Baikal is a Russian highway in Siberia. It goes from Irkutsk on the southern shore of the eponymous Lake Baikal to Ulan -Ude and from there to Chita. It is 1113 km long (next M5 Ural, Irtysh R254, R255 Sibir, R297 Amur and Ussuri A370 ) part of the Russian transcontinental road connection from Moscow to Vladivostok and thus the AH6 in the Asian highway network.

The road was renumbered R258 in 2010. Previously, she had the number M55, which can be used until 31 December 2017 as an alternative.
