Maatia Toafa

Maatia Toafa OBE ( born May 1, 1954) is a politician and twice Prime Minister tuvaluischer the island state.

Toafa held initially Saufatu Sopoanga the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. As Sopoanga resigned after a two days earlier lost confidence vote in Parliament on 27 August 2004, Toafa first took over the position as acting.

On September 29, 2010 Toafa was re-elected by the Parliament in this office, but it remained only until December of the same year. On August 5, 2013, he was Minister of Finance in the government of Enele Sopoaga.
