Mahnomen is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) and the administrative seat of Mahnomen County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, Mahnomen had 1214 inhabitants.
The city as well as the county of the same name within the White Earth Indian Reservation of the Anishinabe.
Geography
Mahnomen is located in the central northwestern Minnesota on the north shore of the Wild Rice River, a right tributary of the Red River of the North. The city is located at 47 ° 18'55 " north latitude, 95 ° 58'07 " west longitude and covers 2.75 km ².

The U.S. Highway 59 leads as the main road through the city of Mahnomen and crosses on the northern outskirts of the city, running from west to east Minnesota State Route 200 All other roads are minor roads, some unpaved roadways and urban roads.
In parallel to U.S. 59 runs a railway line of the Canadian Pacific Railway.
The Mahnomen County Airport is located 7.4 km south a small regional airport.
