Matías Emilio Delgado (born 15 December 1982, Rosario ) is an Italian- Argentine football player.

Career

Delgado was midfielder for FC Basel and has end of June 2006 signed a contract with the Turkish club Beşiktaş Istanbul showpiece. Go to the top of the season 2008/ 09 he was appointed as the new captain of Besiktas. Shortly thereafter, he extended his contract until 2011.

At FC Basel he will wear the number 20 addition, he was elected to the official website of FIFA's then best players in the Swiss League. Delgado was with FC Basel in the years 2004 and 2005 Swiss national football champion. In 2003 he won the Swiss Cup with FC Basel. During his involvement in Turkey he wore the shirt number 10 In Beşiktaş Istanbul, he was in the 2007/ 08 season, used 6 times in the UEFA Champions League. In August 2010, he moved to Al- Jazira in Abu Dhabi. In July 2013 he signed a contract at FC Basel for four years.

Private

Delgado took place with two years with his family in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires. The reason was that his father Eduardo Emilio Delgado joined as a professional footballer to a resident club. His father played 15 years in the Argentine top division and for renowned clubs such as Central Rosario, San Lorenzo and especially Velez Sarsfield.

Delgado has three siblings, sister Soledad ( born 1980 ), a trained physical education teacher, and two younger brothers named Ramiro (* 1990) and Martin (* 1998). Matías Delgado is married to the tennis teacher and studied physical education teacher Maria Laura Rossi, a sister of Julio Hernán Rossi football player, who also played for FC Basel. Together they have two children.
