Matthew & Son is the first studio album of the singer -songwriter Cat Stevens and was published in 1967.

History

The first album by Cat Stevens (now Yusuf ) was released in March 1967, and reached number 7 in the UK charts. The recordings ranged from July 1966 to February 1967 in Decca Studios in West Hampstead, London under the supervision of producer Mike Hurst.

Two singles were published in advance, I Love My Dog reached in September 1966, the 28th place in the charts of the UK and the theme song Matthew & Son, who finished in 25th place in the UK No. 2 and in Germany and brought about the commercial breakthrough for Stevens.

The Tremeloes who covered the title Here Comes My Baby by Stevens debut album and reached their single version number 4 in the British charts.
