Mikaël Kingsbury

Mikaël Kingsbury ( born July 24, 1992 Sainte -Agathe -des- Monts, Quebec ) is a Canadian freestyle skier. He specializes in the moguls and dual moguls mogul disciplines. His greatest successes so far are winning the overall and the moguls discipline rating in the seasons 2011/12, 2012/13 and 2013/14 and the moguls World Champion title in 2013.

Biography

Kingsbury grew up in the city of Deux- Montagnes and participated as of March 2005 in FIS competitions. From January 2008 he participated in the Nor- Am Cup, the North American Continental Championship, in part. After he had reached in 2009 at the beginning of the first podium, he succeeded in the 2009/10 season with five wins. With more than double the score of the runner-up, he decided the moguls discipline standings of the Nor -Am Cup for themselves.

His debut in the World Cup had Kingsbury on January 8, 2010 in Calgary, where he was 54th. The first World Cup points he brought on 12 March of the same year with the 15th place in Åre. Just a day later, he was able to establish itself as a fourth in the middle of the world rankings. With the second place in Ruka him on December 11, 2010, the first podium finish in the World Cup succeeded. The first victory was followed nine days later in Beida Lake. At the World Championships 2011, he won the silver medal in dual moguls and the bronze medal in the moguls competition.

Similarly, dominant Kingsbury was in the 2012/13 season with six other World Cup victories. At the World Cup 2013 in Voss, he won the gold medal Moguls And it came up the dual moguls silver medal. Kingsbury began the World Cup 2013/14 season with three wins in a row. Thereafter, however, he fell into the discipline rating slightly behind Alexandre Bilodeau. Also at the Olympic Winter Games in Sochi in 2014 he had to admit defeat him and won the silver medal. Towards the end of the season he was able to increase again and celebrate two more wins, so he decided for the third time in a row, both the moguls discipline rating as well as the overall title for themselves.
