Pierre-Alexandre Rousseau

Pierre -Alexandre Rousseau ( born October 6, 1979 in Drummondville, Quebec ) is a Canadian freestyle skier. He specializes in the moguls and dual moguls mogul disciplines. In 2007 he was World Champion mogul.

Biography

His debut in the World Cup had Rousseau on 9 January 1997 at Mont Tremblant, where he was 32 ​​. The first World Cup points, he won two weeks later than 14th in Breckenridge. On January 16, 1999, he scored a second in dual moguls competition in Steamboat Springs, the first podium finish. Two months later, he first participated at the World Championships. In the World Cup season 1999/2000 Rousseau scored two more podium finishes in the 2000 /01 season he was on the podium three times. At the 2001 World Championships in Whistler, he won behind the Finn Mikko Ronkainen the silver medal in the moguls competition.

In January 2002, Rousseau crashed in heavy training before the World Cup competition in Saint- Lary -Soulan and retired doing a cervical injury. In an operation two cervical vertebrae had to be interconnected. In December 2002, Rousseau returned after several months of therapy, back in the World Cup and drove in Tignes immediately to fifth place. On January 11, 2003, he was at the Mont Tremblant scored the first World Cup victory. Another win followed five weeks later. In total, he scored six podium finishes in the 2002/03 season.
