Guilbaut Colas

Guilbaut Colas ( born June 18, 1983 in Échirolles ) is a French freestyle skis. He specializes in the moguls and dual moguls mogul disciplines. In 2011 he was World Champion mogul in the World Cup season 2010/11 he decided both the overall standings and the moguls discipline rating for themselves.

Biography

Colas debuted on 1 December 2001 in the freestyle skiing World Cup and reached the 13th place in Tignes. This remained in this winter by far his best result. In the season 2002/ 03 he classified himself several times in the top 20 at the World Cup 2003 in Deer Valley he came in Moguls Competition surprisingly up to fifth place before. In the winter of 2003/ 04 he was able to finally establish in midfield and reached fifth place in Spindleruv Mlyn the best ever World Cup result. In the World Cup season 2004/ 05 he reached twice each the fourth and fifth place, also he was fourth at the 2005 World Championships in Ruka in the moguls competition.

On 1 March 2006 Colas was second in jisan first time on the podium, two weeks earlier he had become Tenth 2006 at the Olympic Winter Games. His first World Cup victory could Colas celebrate in Deer Valley on 13 January 2007. There were three more podiums this winter. This was enough in the moguls and dual moguls discipline ratings respectively for the second place, where he was defeated by the Australian Dale Begg -Smith both times. At the end of the season he won the dual moguls silver medal at the 2007 World Championships in Madonna di Campiglio.

In the 2007 /08 season Colas won two World Cup races, in the discipline assessment, again only Begg -Smith was better. Another two victories he celebrated in the 2008 /09 season; Despite three additional podiums handed it again behind the Canadian Alexandre Bilodeau only for second place in the discipline standings. Disappointing the 2009 World Cup in Inawashiro with a twelfth place as best result. In the World Cup season 2009/10 Colas won three races and was never worse than classified in sixth place, which was enough for second place in the discipline standings. At the Olympic Winter Games 2010, he was after qualification in management, but then fell back to sixth place.

Colas dominated the World Cup season 2010/11. He won four times and was three times second and third twice. At the 2011 World Championships in Deer Valley, he could be his role as favorite and won the gold medal in the moguls competition. In the last race of the season, he secured through the day's victory in Myrdalen - Voss both the first-time winning the moguls discipline World Cups as well as the Overall World Cup title.
