The Milano Porta Venezia Metro Station is a major hub of Milan's public transport network. It is a major transfer point between S- Bahn and U -Bahn station dar. The entire system is placed underground.

History

End of the 1950s began with the construction of the first section of subway Milan, which should go from Marelli to Lotto. These included the Porta Venezia station, which was initially designated as Oberdan.

The metro line was opened on 1 November 1964. As each station of Line 1 had two tracks with side platforms of the Porta Venezia Metro Station. About the track level, a mezzanine with monitored access control arose. The rooms were designed by the architect Franco Albini and Franca Helg, the signage of Bob Noorda.

According to the plans of the 1950s, another subway route has been planned, the line 4, which should drive the direction from east to west. For the intended transfer possibility between the lines the platforms and mezzanine were oversized permitted. In the 1970s, these plans were abandoned and the line 4 is replaced by an S- Bahn connection ( the so-called " Passante ").

The S-Bahn station was taken after a long and serious construction on December 21, 1997 Operating and served as a temporary terminus of the coming of Bovisa route. On 30 June 2002, the " Passante " was further extended by Dateo so that the Porta Venezia Metro Station was a simpler breakpoint.
