Geography

Mils is located in the Upper Inn Valley near Imst, north of the Inn. The scattered village is climatically favored at the edge of a valley widening. In contrast to the two neighboring towns Schönwies and Imsterberg Mils has sun all year round.

History

The church was first mentioned in the 13th century. The name comes from the Latin word Mils " molere " ( mill ) because Mils is located on a debris cone, where previously often find mills were coming down and the rocks were ground from the Larsennschlucht. The area around Mils is often also called "on the Mils ."

Church History

Milsner Au

The Milsner Au is a nearby recreation area at the Inn.
