Location of Moischt in Marburg

Moischt ( möscht pronounced, never mo'ischt ) is a district of Marburg in Marburg- Biedenkopf in central Hesse.

The village is located about 5 km south east of Marburg, in a depression and an increasing in the direction of Marburg and to the northwest slope, the stamp that leads on to the Lahnbergen. The height above sea level is on average 240 meters.

Moischt bordered to the south and east by Beltershausen or Wittelsberg, districts of the municipality Ebsdorfergrund.

  • Hahner Heide: Located west towards Cappel open settlement ( first mentioned in 1698 ), which should have heard since its inception to Moischt;
  • Court Capelle: Situated in a valley southwest of the Hahner Heidesiedlung, which goes back to a homestead of the Teutonic Order. She was always independent of Moischt. The court also heard Capelle not Moischt but to Beltershausen.

Waste places and locations unclear

  • Eisenbach Heath: locality between Moischt and Beltershausen; is already mentioned in 1578 as " desolate ";
  • Herrenwieser Heide: 1699-1700 contentious between Moischt and Wittelsberg area;
  • Lampert Hausen: settlement between Moischt, Schröck and Wittelsberg; deserted since 1600.

History

Moischt was the first time in 1248 in documents Archbishop of Mainz under the name mussede mentioned in a document. Ceramic finds from the Carolingian period show a much earlier settlement. Since the local government reform of 1974 is the place district of Marburg.

In the immediate vicinity of Moischt is on July 30, 1233 Conrad of Marburg, the confessor of Saint Elizabeth, have been killed. The "Konrad von Marburg - stone " near Capelle courtyard reminiscent of the fact, however, marked not necessarily the exact scene. This is probably in the district Beltershausen lie ( to Ebsdorfergrund ).

On December 31, 1971, until then an independent city was incorporated into the municipality of Cappel. This came on 1 July 1974 Marburg.

Politics and Administration

The town council has seven seats. Two of them show the Social Democrats, the majority will by the CDU ( 3 seats ) and the independent list of village community (2 seats) formed. Mayor is Horst Mania ( CDU) (as of 2011).

Culture

In Moischt there are a variety of clubs, these are the gymnastics and sports club, fire society ( with model group), fraternity, youth club " Urmel ", shooting club, theater club, home and history club, glee club with female choir and poultry farming association.

Among the regular local events, such as the May Day celebrations, theatrical performances of the theater club, the senior-citizen, Easter and Christmas market, the migration of local associations to the day of German unity and the model exhibition.

Native to Moischt are several business establishments. There is no food market despite several settlement attempts.

The competent elementary school located in Wittelsberg. Most students go to the elementary school to the total school Ebsdorfergrund Heskem or one of the Marburg school. For all schools there are school buses or regular service.

Moischt belongs to the evangelical parish Wittelsberg / Moischt / Schröck or to the Catholic parish of St. Michael and St. Elizabeth in Schröck. The place is mostly Protestant.
