Moshe Shahal

Moshe Schachal (Hebrew משה שחל; born May 20, 1934 in Baghdad ) is a former Israeli politician.

Moshe Schachal immigrated 1950 to Israel, where he studied economics and politics at the University of Haifa. For the Knesset elections of 1969 he stood at 57th position in the list of Avodah; in the clearing process he replaced on September 1, 1971 Mordechai Ofer. He was reelected in 1974, 1977 and 1981. Moshe Schachal held several ministerial positions: from 1984 to 1990 and 1992 to 1995 he was Minister of Energy & Infrastructure, 1992-1993 Minister of Communications, Minister of Police from 1992 to 1995 and from 1995 to 1996 Minister of Internal Security.
