Mueang Prachinburi District

Amphoe Mueang Prachinburi ( Thai: อำเภอ เมือง ปราจีนบุรี ) is a district ( Amphoe ) in the province of Prachinburi. The provincial capital Prachinburi is also the capital of the district Mueang Prachinburi.

Location

Prachinburi is located on the eastern edge of the central plain and is about 90 kilometers from the capital Bangkok. The area is crossed by numerous canals, the Khlongs.

Neighboring districts are ( from east clockwise): Amphoe the Prachantakham, Si Maha Phot, Si Mahosot and Ban Sang of Prachinburi Province, and Amphoe Pak Phli of Nakhon Nayok.

Education

In Amphoe Mueang Prachinburi is a side campus of King Mongkut 's University of Technology North Bangkok.

Management

Amphoe Mueang Prachinburi is ( tambon) divided into thirteen communities which in turn in 144 village communities ( Muban ) are divided.

Prachinburi city itself has a status ( thesaban Mueang ), it consists of the whole tambon Na Mueang.

There are also two small towns ( thesaban tambon) in the district:

  • Ban Na Prue consists of parts of the tambon Noen Hom,
  • Khok Makok covers parts of tambon Non Hom.

There are also twelve administrative organizations ( " Tambon Administrative Organizations" - TAO, Thai: องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล ).
