Dol pri Ljubljani ( German: Lusthal ) is a municipality in the Lower Carniola region of Slovenia.

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of 19 villages and hamlets, 5,172 people live. The main town of Dol pri Ljubljani stands to a height of 339 m. The community is located 12 km northeast of Ljubljana at the confluence of three rivers, the Sava, the Kamniška Bistrica and the ljubljanica.

History

Dol pri Ljubljani lay on the Roman road from Vrhnika to Celje. The convenient location on the rivers allowed there a port for sailors and rafters. The main industry but was the braiding of straw and the straw hat production.
