Municipality of Horjul

Horjul (German: "Tree Church in the Upper Carniola " ) is a municipality in the Lower Carniola region of Slovenia.

Location and population

In the overall community consisting of nine villages, 2,742 people live. The main town Horjul alone has 1,169 inhabitants and is located on 339 m. The community is located 14 km west of Ljubljana.

History

It is assumed that the name of Julius Caesar is derived. Horjul was inhabited in Roman times.
