Murashi, Kirov Oblast

Muraschi (Russian Мураши ) is a small town in Kirov Oblast (Russia) with 6750 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

Muraschi is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.

History

Muraschi was created in 1895 in the vicinity of an earlier settlement with the same name as the station settlement in the construction of the railway line Vyatka Kotlas ( opened in 1899 ) and received city rights in 1944.
