Belaya Kholunitsa

Belaya Kholunitsa (Russian Белая Холуница ) is a town in Kirov Oblast (Russia) with 11,232 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located about 75 km northeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Kirov at the Belaya Kholunitsa, a left tributary of the Vyatka. The village lies at an altitude of 135-160 m.

Belaya Kholunitsa is the administrative center of the homonymous Rajons.

History

The town was the construction of the ironworks Nowotroizki Cholunizki Sawod 1764 initially as Cholunizki, later Belocholunizki, and granted in 1965 under the present name of a town.
