Sosnovka, Kirov Oblast

Sosnowka (Russian Сосновка ) is a town in Kirov Oblast (Russia) with 11,960 inhabitants (as of October 14, 2010 ).

Geography

The city is located about 360 km southeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Kirov at the Vyatka, a right tributary of the Kama.

Sosnowka belongs to Rajon Vyatskie Polyany.

History

Sosnowka was first mentioned in documents in 1699, received in 1938 the status of an urban-type settlement and 1962 city law.
