Mužla

Mužla (Hungarian Muzsla ) is a municipality in southwestern Slovakia. It is located in the Danube plain, about 10 km west of Štúrovo.

The village was first mentioned in 1156 as Mosula.

Until 1918 the village was in the county Gran the Kingdom of Hungary (where it was the seat of the chair of the district administrative district chair Párkány / Štúrovo ) and then came to the newly formed Czechoslovakia. By the First Vienna Award they came from 1938 to 1945 for a short time again to Hungary.

Of the residents living in the place 85 % of Hungarian and 14% Slovak descent (as of 2001). Worth seeing is the Catholic Church of 1332.

To the municipality include not only the main town also Malá Mužla (Hungarian Kismuzsla ) Čenkov (Hungarian Csenke ) and Jurský Chlm (Hungarian Szentgyörgyhalma ).
