MyÅkÅ, Niigata
Myoko (Japanese妙 高市, -shi ) is a city in Niigata Prefecture in Japan.
Geography
Myoko is located south of Joetsu and north of Nagano.
History
The town of Myoko was founded on 1 April 2005 from the Shi Arai, the Chō Myokokogen and the Mura Myoko. The name of the new city comes only indirectly from the village, but refers to the 2,454 m high mountain Myoko.
