Naisey-les-Granges

Naisey les Granges is a commune in the French department Doubs in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Naisey les Granges is located at 474 m, about 16 km east of the city of Besançon (air line). The village is located in the western Jura, on the so-called first plateau on the southern edge of the basin of the Saone, at the foot of the ridge of the Côte d' Anroz.

The area of ​​25.13 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the western French Jura. The northern part of the area is occupied by the wide first Jura plateau, the average is 450 m and rises slightly towards the south. It forms a wide basin with no surface drainage, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground. In the area of Naisey les Granges the plateau is mainly consisted of arable and meadow land, partly by forest. In the north, the limit is the expanded forest area of the Forêt de Chauley. To the south, the municipality's area extends to the long and wooded ridge of the Côte d' Anroz, on the 715 meters, the highest elevation of Naisey les Granges is achieved. The southern border is the Petit Mont at the edge of the plateau of Valdahon. To the east of the municipality of soil dates back to the dry valley of Les Chasaux.

The double municipality Naisey les Granges consists of the two districts Naisey ( 474 m) at the northern foot of the Côte d' Anroz and Granges -de- Vienney (550 m) in an elevated position on the western slope of the Cote d' Anroz and some farm groups and individual farms. Neighboring communities of Naisey -les -Granges are Bouclans in the north, Gonsans in the east, Verrières -du -Gros Bois and L' Hôpital du Gros Bois to the south and Mamirolle and La Chevillotte in the West.

History

In the Middle Ages Naisey belonged to the rule Montfaucon. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France. To a field change occurred in 1972 when the previously independent municipalities Naisey and Granges -de- Vienney merged to form the new municipality Naisey les Granges.

Attractions

The single village church Saint- antide in Naisey was built from 1764 to 1770. In the village are farmhouses are preserved in the characteristic style of the Franche -Comté from the 17th to 19th centuries.

Population

With 753 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Naisey les Granges is one of the small communities of the department of Doubs. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1881 644 persons were still counted ), a continuous population growth was recorded since the mid-1970s again.

Economy and infrastructure

Naisey les Granges was until well into the 20th century a predominantly by agriculture (crops, orchards and livestock ) and forestry embossed village.
