The municipality Nesse - Apfelstädt is a rural municipality in the district of Gotha in Thuringia. Administrative headquarters are in Neudietendorf.

History
The rural municipality Nesse - Apfelstädt created on 1 December 2009 by the merger of the municipalities Apfelstädt, Gamstädt, Ingersleben and Neudietendorf. Named the community is after the two rivers Nesse and Apfelstädt. Previously, the districts of the municipality were merged already in the administrative community Nesse - Apfelstädt communities, this was at the same time dissolved with formation of the community.

For Mayor Christian Jacob ( joint candidate of the B'90 / GREEN, CDU, Die Linke, FWG Apfelstädt - Gamstädt - Kleinrettbach - Ingersleben and SPD) was elected on 21 February 2010.
Traffic
Through the village leads the federal highway 7 in the north as well as the federal highway 71 in the east and the Federal Highway 4 in the south.
In addition, the Neudietendorf station is a major rail hub, the railway line Neudietendorf - Ritschenhausen branches off to the rail of the Thuringia (Erfurt -Eisenach ) with trains to Ilmenau, Meiningen, Würzburg and Saalfeld to the south. Over and above the Thuringian Railway train to Erfurt, Eisenach, Halle and Göttingen.
