Néstor "Tito" Gonçalves (* April 27, 1936 in Cabello, Artigas, Uruguay ) is a former Uruguayan football player, celebrated numerous successes with his club Peñarol, in which he played throughout his career and with the Uruguayan national team in two football world Championships participated.
Career
Club career
Néstor Gonçalves began his footballing career in 1956 in the Uruguayan capital club Peñarol. Throughout his career, which lasted until 1971, fifteen years, he remained loyal to the club and completed for the Aurinegros during his career total of 574 games, which he is the player with the most missions in the history Peñarols is by Pablo Bengoechea ( 545 games). After winning the Copa Libertadores 1966, then won against Real Madrid, winner of the European Cup of Champions 1965/66, 2-0 and 2-0 in Madrid and Montevideo. Previously Gonçalves had won the Copa Libertadores with Peñarol, in the final CA River Plate of Argentina was defeated after a play. Gonçalves was used in all three finals.
National
Néstor Gonçalves played in 50 appearances for the Uruguayan national football team. These matches took place from its debut on March 23, 1957 of the Peruvian selection until his last mission on 8 February 1971 in the game against the GDR instead. A scoring did not succeed there. His debut took place here during the Campeonato Sudamericano 1957. Also in the 1959 - Ausgane this tournament he belonged to the levy of the Uruguayans.
