Nicolás Suárez is a province in the northwestern part of the Pando department in the lowlands of the South American Andean Republic of Bolivia. The province was named to the 1951 " Tahuamanu Province ", since it bears the name of the rubber baron Nicolás Suárez ( 1861-1940 ), who had large parts of the departments of Beni and Pando in his possession at the time of the rubber boom.

Location

The province is one of five provinces in the department of Pando. It is bordered on the north by the Republic of Brazil, to the west by the Republic of Peru, on the south by the province Manuripi, and on the east by the province of Abuna.

It extends between 10 ° 39 'and 11 ° 27' south latitude and 67 ° 33 ' and 69 ° 34 ' west longitude, its length from south-west to north-east is 370 km, its width from north to south up to 100 kilometers.
