Nikias Arndt

Nikias Arndt (born 18 November 1991 in Buchholz in der Heide Nord ) is a German track and road racing cyclist.

Nikias Arndt in 2006 was German champion in the points race of the junior class. In 2007 he won the silver medal at the European Youth Olympics criterion in Belgrade. On the train he was German youth champion in the individual pursuit. In the junior class Arndt 2008 could decide the overall ranking of the " Cup of Grudziadz Town President" in Poland itself. The following year he won two pieces at the " Závod Miru ", each a stage in the " Driedaagse van Axel", as well as in Lower Saxony Tour. At the Junior World Championships in Moscow, he finished fourth in the individual time trial, and on the track, he won the bronze medal in the Omnium and in the team pursuit. In the UCI Track World Championships 2011 in Apeldoorn Nikias Arndt placed seventh in the individual pursuit.

Between 2010 and 2012 drove Arndt for the German LKT Team Brandenburg and won in that time, among other things four stages of the Tour of Thuringia and as a driver of the German national team, a stage of the Tour de l' Avenir. He then joined the UCI ProTeam Dutch Argos - Shimano, was able to achieve for which a mass sprint of the third stage of the Arctic Race of Norway its first major international success on the road. In August and September 2013 he drove his first Grand Tour, the Vuelta a España, where he was third on the 21st stage in Madrid in a mass sprint.
